Factchecking Workshop in Almaty from 30 November to 2 December
Dear colleagues!
We invite you to take part in the “Factchecking Workshop”, which will be held in Almaty (Kazakhstan) from 30 November to 2 December. If you are a journalist from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan, we are waiting for you in our workshop!
During the workshop you will be introduced to the key concepts of factchecking and journalism, a comprehensive overview of the latest visual verification and fact-checking tools, as well as practical exercises on factchecking.
The workshop agenda includes:
– Manual and automated data collection and analysis practices
– Social media platforms search – logic, new tools, pitfalls.
– Profiling – collecting data on individuals and legal entities
– Building a personal cybersecurity model for a journalist
– How can a factchecker tell a story?
– Working with mentors in groups and creating material
Pavel Bannikov (Provereno.Media, editor) and Yaroslav Tartykov (Factcheck.KG, editor) will act as trainers and mentors.
